Founded in 2012 by Mr. Esmael Mangudadatu and his late wife, Mrs. Genalin Tiamson Mangudadatu, EGM AQUA FARM is situated on Lake Buluan, the third largest lake in Mindanao. This location is highly suitable for tilapia farming, offering excellent conditions for fish pen culture due to the lake’s exceptional productivity. The lake’s abundant phytoplankton fosters significant gross primary production, placing it among the most productive open water bodies in the Philippines and Southeast Asia.

The founders aimed to provide high-quality tilapia throughout Mindanao and beyond. From the outset, they prioritized sustainable aquaculture practices, utilizing environmentally friendly methods to cultivate tilapia. As a result, the company has gained a reputation for supplying premium tilapia free from antibiotics, commercial feeds, and harmful chemicals.
